Your First 15 Minutes: A Step-by-Step Guide to Mastering Your SubHound Dashboard

Welcome to calm control. This powerful, one-time setup is the key.
Welcome to SubHound!
Congratulations on taking the first step towards calm, confident control over your subscriptions and bills. We know the idea of setting up a new tool can feel like a chore. That's why we've designed this powerful, one-time setup to take less than 15 minutes.
Follow these simple steps, and you'll transform this empty dashboard into your personal command centre for financial clarity.
Before You Begin: The 1-Minute Prep
To make this process as smooth as possible, take a moment to get your information ready.
Have your smartphone handy with your mobile banking app open.
Or, open a new browser tab and log in to your online banking.
Minutes 1-3: Your "First Win" with the Demo Alert
Our goal is to get you a "win" within the first few minutes. You'll notice your dashboard is pre-populated with a demo item: SubHound Trial. We'll use this to walk you through how an alert works.
Find the SubHound Trial item on your dashboard.
Click the "Set Alert" button (it looks like a bell icon).
A simple menu will appear. You don't need to change anything for now – we've pre-filled the details. Notice that you can choose when you get the alert (e.g., 3 days before it ends) and how you get it (e.g., WhatsApp, Email).
Click "Save Alert."
That's it! The bell icon will turn orange, confirming your alert is active. You've just experienced the core function of SubHound. Simple, right?
Minutes 4-7: Add Another Recurring Payment
Now, let's add something real. Grab your phone or open your banking app and find one recurring payment. A great first one to add is Netflix, Spotify, or your mobile phone contract.
Click the big "Add Recurring Payment" button.
Name: Type in the name of the service.
Price: Enter what you pay.
Billing Cycle: Is it monthly or yearly?
Next Payment Date: This is the most important field! Check your bank account or the service's app for the next date you'll be charged.
Click "Save Subscription."
You've now added your first real item. Repeat the process from Step 1 to set an alert for it. We recommend an alert 3-7 days before the payment date to give you plenty of time to act.
Minutes 8-15: Build Your Core Dashboard
This is the final and most important part of the setup. It's time to build out your dashboard.
Your goal for the next 8 minutes is to add 5 to 10 of your key subscriptions, recurring payments.
Focus on these categories:
High-Value Annual Renewals: Car insurance, home insurance, web hosting.
Services with Price Hikes: Broadband, TV packages, mobile phone contracts.
Easy to Forget Trials: Any new services you're currently trying for free.
Key Monthly Bills: The big streaming services, gym memberships, etc.
As you add each one, set an alert. You'll quickly see your dashboard transform into a clear, powerful overview of your financial life.
You're All Set!
And you're done. In about the time it takes to drink a coffee, you've laid the foundation for long-term financial control. Your dashboard is now your guardian, working silently in the background. Now that the setup is complete, you only need to check in when you get an alert, or set alerts.
Welcome to the peace of mind that comes from knowing exactly what's around the corner.
