What Is Smart Import?

Smart Import is an optional, AI-assisted tool designed to make populating your SubHound dashboard almost effortless.

The process is simple. When you have a receipt, invoice or bank statement for a recurring service, you no longer need to type anything in:

  1. Open Smart Import from your dashboard and drop in the file: a PDF invoice, a photo or screenshot of a receipt (JPG or PNG), or a CSV exported from your banking app.
  2. Our AI scans the document and pulls out the service name, the amount, and the next renewal date.
Reminder
The entry will only be added if it is sent from the email account that it was signed up with. And currently we only read the body text of the email, not pdfs or jpegs.

You review and confirm. Nothing lands on your dashboard without your say-so.

We show you exactly what was found before anything is added. One click and the entry is on your dashboard, ready for an alert.

Smart Import is a powerful tool, and a couple of habits will get you the best results:

  • Use the original document where you can: a PDF invoice or a clear photo of the receipt gives the AI the most to work with.
  • Bank statements work too: export a CSV from your banking app (or grab the SubHound template) and import everything in one pass. Your file is used to extract your payments, nothing more.
